The burglar-proof overhead doors from Protect Industrial Doors BV have been tested and certified by SKG in conformity with the European standard ENV 1627 (NEN5096) and are suitable for different resistance categories.

Various market participants make ever increasing demands upon prevention measures against burglary in order to protect valuables in a building. A certified solution can also contribute to a reduction of the insurance premium. Protec had the new, burglar-proof overhead doors tested on various resistance categories. The tests on a complete door construction have shown that the overhead doors comply with the highest standards (WK6) in accordance with the European standard ENV 1627 (NEN5096)) in the field of burglar resistance. The overhead doors with windows are now also certified up to and including resistance category 4 (WK4).

Protec even offers the possibility to combine the burglar-proof doors with other demands such as fire safety, design and acoustic characteristics. This gives architects and consultancy companies more room to realise a suitable design.

Without limiting the use and fire-resistance of the doors, the liquid retention barrier for the fire-resistant overhead door  provides a combined solution. As the first manufacturer to test this
construction on both properties in collaboration with Efectis, the fire-resistance and the fluid density are guaranteed. This unique solution provides a secure and certified application for companies, which must comply with the Dutch Publication Series on Dangerous Substances (PGS 15). This unique solution can also be applied in Europe.  With which we are well ahead in Europe  to meet up national standards which apply for international companies which produces and/or tore dangerous substances. According to the European certification , for fire doors,  we have reached the highest rating, the EI1. This classification is only awarded after an actual fire test according to the EN1634-1.  By testing the liquid retention barrier together with the fire-resistant overhead door by Efectis/TNO, it is demonstrated and agreed that the fire-resistance remains unaffected. In addition, it is demonstrated during the five tests (the longest of which lasted 240 minutes) that the liquid density of the liquid retention barrier is retained.  The test results show that the liquid leakage is 0.15 litres per metre per hour (0.15L/m1/uur).  The liquid retention barrier is already available to a height of 1,000 mm. With this solution, Protec Industrial Doors,  has a unique solution to  combine the liquid retention barrier with the fire door.  This includes the requirement that there must be a provision in these spaces against the leakage of harmful substances into the environment as well as the prevention of fire penetration via liquids. At the moment, this solution is unique and is actually tested first by Efectis.

With a newly tested fire-resistant overhead door, Protec Industrial Doors is introducing a fire door that will be competing with all door variations already available. This new fire-resistant door has huge benefits with regard to certification, pricing, weight and areas of application.

The door has been tested at Efectis/TNO/Peutz and achieved the EI1 60-minute classification, which means that this door is ahead of legislation and in all cases can be used without discussion in all situations where a fire door is required. Whether it concerns the storage of hazardous substances or a regular fire-retarding wall, this door hardly has any limitations.

In many cases the applications already used will be replaced by NEN-EN 1624-1, meaning that additional requirements will apply to the solution chosen by you. In many specifications and specification texts this is still being included incorrectly, as a result of which end users and purchasing parties are forced by the Fire Brigade, insurance companies and municipal bodies to replace the doors before the building is opened for service.

Because all the benefits of an overhead door are also incorporated in this door, there are hardly any usage limitations relating to the area of application, in outer walls, or usage, this is almost unlimited. Provisions such as a power cut function, a combination with a liquid-retention barrier and ATEX facilities are also possible.

A variation of this fire-resistant door has also been tested and certified with a sound-insulating value of 38 dB, as a result of which this fire-resistant and sound-insulating door has a unique area of application outside of regular fire-retarding walls. Examples include theatres, test rooms, production areas and power stations.

Please contact us for more information relating to regulations, areas of application and/or other information.
