The ATEX doors must comply with the EI standard.

This standard sets strict requirements for the thermal insulation of fire applications to prevent spontaneous ignition of goods and people as a result of radiant heat. This standard and requirement are mandatory abroad for fire-retarding wall applications.

Our fire-resistant overhead door does comply with this standard and has passed the highest thermal insulation requirement, which is the EI1 requirement. The fire-resistant overhead door type Protec F-100 EI1 – 60 complies with the strictest standards and is endorsed by Efectis/TNO/Peutz for use in areas where hazardous substances are stored.

Our extensive experience in the field of explosion-proof applications and legislation allows us to provide you with complete recommendations with regard to these regulations and specify them with our newly certified products.

In areas where requirements are set for controlling various risks, we can offer items such as explosion-proof motors, control boxes and control elements for the ATEX doors. Due to the storage of hazardous substances, additional requirements are often also set for extinguishing agents and risk management. It may therefore be necessary to apply additional safety measures to the door. Examples include closing speeds, locks, earthing of a door, the use of a liquid-retention barrier, etc. These types of solutions and designs are tailored to your wishes and/or set of requirements by means of a sound and high-quality advice procedure. In this way your building will meet the set requirements and we can realise cost savings for you through our experience.

Important points for attention in the above situations where explosion safety requirements apply:

-         Doors certified in accordance with EN-1634-1 EI160

-         Where are the ATEX zones?

-         Are additional requirements set for fluid controllability?

-         Which exact EX zones with corresponding gas and temperature classes are required?

What should you keep in mind regarding these areas?

The following requirements may optionally apply:
